Corporate Overview
Trillium Therapeutics Inc. (TTI) is a privately-owned biopharmaceutical company with two main areas of focus: cytoprotection and immune regulation. The Company's cytoprotection programs are based upon a recombinant form of heparin-binding epidermal growth factor-like growth factor (HB-EGF). In the immune regulation space, Trillium is developing a suite of innovate immunomodulatory products that are capable of either suppressing the immune system, for the treatment of autoimmunity, inflammation and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), or activating the immune system, for the treatment of cancer.
TTI has an industry-experienced scientific team with expertise in immunology, protein chemistry, assay development, molecular biology, recombinant protein production and process development. Internal research is conducted at the Company’s facility in Toronto, Canada, and is focused on protein production, in vitro mechanism of action studies and in vivo proof-of-principal studies in animal models. In addition to its corporate partnerships, the Company has an extensive network of academic collaborators at leading international research organizations, and has assembled a panel of key opinion leaders to guide the clinical development of its TTI-1612 programs.
Trillium’s near-term objective is to build and solidify its reputation as a premier immunology R&D company that bridges the gap between organizations involved in discovery research and those conducting late-stage clinical development and marketing of therapeutic products. The Company’s longer-term strategy is to create a broad and innovative pipeline of proprietary biologic product opportunities, as part of its overall strategy of building and solidifying its reputation as a premier R & D company. Trillium has already captured long-term value and risk sharing for its shareholders through a series of partnerships with multinational companies.
